Juvenile Drug Court
Madison County Attorney's Office

If a youthful offender abuses drugs or alcohol, it is possible that he or she will be evaluated for participation in juvenile drug court.  There are a number of factors that must be considered in granting admission to the program.

Once admitted, the participant meets with a team of professionals including judges, prosecutors, social workers, school officials, and others on a regular basis.  It is a collaborative approach designed to find strengths of the participants and build upon them.  It is an intense programming with the emphasis being on both treatment and rehabilitation.

4 have graduated from the program so far, and 8 are currently participating.  While there have been a number of participants that have been unable to complete the strenuous program, each child that graduates drug free is worth the effort associated with administering the program.
